Goodbye 2019.....hello 2020!
2019 – what a year that was. It’s practically impossible to mention that number without bringing up the ‘P’ word, or the ‘E’ word*, but I don’t want to add to that conversation, I want to acknowledge all our wonderful clients from 2019, share a few images of their gorgeous invitations - and wish them ALL every happiness in 2020. We look forward to a happier and more settled 12 months in our new home, Studio 3, Wood Street, Hoylake and wish every single one of you a happy and prosperous 2020!
Gemma and Ben loved stationery - always a good start - and had a really clear idea of what they wanted, which had to include a rustic feel, an illustrated map which folded out of the invitation, pictures of their venues - and touches of rose gold. I created a set of illustrations for the on the day stationery too and this suite really pushed my skills in sketching and illustrating but the results were well worth it. Being pushed is good - it forces me to learn new skills and improve what I can offer in terms of custom design. This set featured lots of watercolour and the floral design was repeated throughout - on the pocket, the envelope liner, the little business card with the watercolour of The Lakeside Marquee, Thornton Manor - the map - and we used little rose gold coloured accessories - paper clips, staples, miniature clips. Gemma and Ben were such a lovely couple, I think we were all, well, over the moon for them when they got married - but disappointed it was the end of our project! Happy New Year you two beautful people xx
Hanna and Martin's amazing wedding took place in Liverpool's stunning Anglican Cathedral with the reception at the Palm House, Sefton Park. The wedding was organised for Hanna and Martin by our good friend Charlotte Elise (Charlotte Elise Weddings and Events) and was featured in Hello! magazine as well as on the ITV programme 'Real Housewives of Cheshire' which Hanna stars on. This hugely successful couple are proof of what can be achieved theough hard work and dedication - and they also have a lot of heart, as shown in their honeymoon. They chose to spend time volunteering at a medical camp in Africa - you can read more on Hanna's blog. XXX
Richard and Lindsay - well, what can I say? I think everytime we met either I made Lindsay cry, or she made me cry - but happy tears! Genuine loveliness from both of these two amazing people who totally deserve each other and every happiness in life. After discussion and debate they chose an invitation designed to illustrate their perfect day - a nice drive up the back roads of the Northwest to the Lake District - cosy walks around Windermere, sticky toffee pudding in Cartmel, a dash over to Grassington House in the Dales for a nice cuppa and then back down to Liverpool for a night out at the theatre. Yup, it's a lot to fit in - but how nice is that? I loved this invitation, not only the colourful, collage style illustration but the style of the trifold, the typography and the lovely board combination they chose. Thanks for everything you two and I just know our paths will cross again xxx
That's all for now - but I've enjoyed getting a few more recent pictures together for y'all and will do my utmost to get better at this in 2020!
Happy New Year
